The Obama Biden Problem….

The self admitted “author” of the 1994 assault weapons ban insults a gun enthusiast during a debate.  Typical narrow-minded liberalism from a plagiarizing, cheating, lying, racist bigot.

New Carry Weapon…

So, the summer months are waning on and there’s no let up in sight for T-shirt and shorts weather here in the south.  I’ve been wanting a new, smaller carry weapon for when I venture out into the cruel world.  While I’m a huge Sig Sauer fan and normally carry the P229 or P225, I’ve been longing for a compact, pocket carry-able handgun to help lighten the load.

After some research, some shooting, some hemming and hawing, and even flirting with the idea of a revolver, I settled on a Kahr Arms MK40.   Its a dual action only,  sub-compact (they call it a micro, but I wouldn’t go that far) semi-auto chambered for the venerable .40 S&W cartridge.   I knew going with a smaller gun would reduce the magazine load, so I went with the larger caliber to deliver more bang for the buck, so to speak.

After picking it up last week, I headed to the range and put about 200 rounds through it to break it in.  I’m very happy with it.   While it took a bit to get used to, being such a small gun, it was accurate and has a snappy recoil.

I like it’s all steel frame and the fact that it weighs 24 ounces unloaded.   This helps a lot when it comes to dealing with the recoil of the larger caliber.   It came with the extended 6 shot magazine, but I think for the comfort factor I’ll go with the 5 shot magazine, carried in a 5+1 configuration.

A little protection with your meal never hurts!
